Aegon International
A world-class event with a strong heritage, in a relaxed setting

The Aegon International 2013 will be played in the idyllic setting of Devonshire Park in Eastbourne from 15 to 22 June. The tournament offers many of the world’s top singles and doubles players a final chance to prepare for Wimbledon, which starts the following week.
Last year's tournament boasted a top-class field, with the women's draw featuring five of the world's top 10 players. Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki was joined by the then reigning Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova. And world number two Agnieska Radwanska tuned up her grass-court game before heading to the Wimbledon final just two week later.
Team Aegon players Heather Watson, Laura Robson and Anne Keothavong all played in the singles, with Watson and Robson teaming up in the doubles.

It again proved to be an exciting and unpredictable tournament, with the final being contested by the fifth seed German Angelique Kerber and the unseeded Austrian Tamira Paszek. After losing the first set Paszek eventually came through in a thrilling contest, winning (5-7, 6-3, 7-5).
The men's line-up featured top players like Frenchman Richard Gascquet and was led by world number one Andy Roddick and 2011 winner Andreas Seppi. In a great week of tennis the two men progressed to face each other in the final. But defending champion Seppi couldn't hold off the big hitting American and was beaten in straight sets (6-3, 6-2). Meanwhile, history was made in the men's doubles where Team Aegon players Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins beat fellow Brits Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski in the first ever all-British final. Fleming and Hutchins came through as (6-4, 6-3) winners.
One of Britain’s top events
The Aegon International has an impressive history: as a premier women’s event, its past winners include Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin, Lindsay Davenport and Caroline Wozniacki. In 2009 Dmitry Tursunov of Russia became the first ever men’s champion, marking a new era for this popular event.
With this display of world-class talent, it’s no surprise the event attracts a big audience and ever-growing crowds. And the open venue makes for a relaxed atmosphere where fans can get close to the action. We’re delighted to sponsor this long-running event at such an exciting time.
