AEGON FutureStars logoOur latest advertising campaign features talented juniors from the AEGON FutureStars programme

The programme identifies top emerging talent from across the country and ensures they receive the right support to develop their tennis careers. It’s an example of how AEGON’s support is helping to create the champions of the future, as well as sponsoring major tournaments like the AEGON Championships, and grass-roots initiatives like AEGON Parks Tennis and AEGON Schools Tennis. After all, as a leading life and pensions company, we understand the importance of investing for the long term.

Meet our AEGON FutureStars

Four AEGON FutureStars took part in the current campaign, which has been running throughout June across press, broadcast and online media. For most, it was their first experience of a photoshoot and of seeing their picture in print – and they definitely enjoyed the limelight. Take a look at an example ad

Will

Will, 13, has been playing tennis since he was five and joined the AEGON FutureStars in January this year.

How does being on the programme help you?

Being on the programme has helped with my confidence and also encouraged me to work as hard as I can so that I can improve my game as much as possible.

What are your two biggest successes to date?

Achieving my first Tennis European ranking points in March 2010 in Nottingham and recently reaching the quarter-finals in a tournament in Finland.

What are your ambitions for the future?

My ambitions are to become a professional tennis player, to represent my country, to play on the ATP World Tour and play at the Grand Slam tennis tournaments throughout the world.

How did you like being part of the AEGON advertising campaign?

I really enjoyed the day of filming and photography at Roehampton. I really enjoyed seeing my picture at Queen’s in the AEGON Suite, in the tournament programme and even on the AEGON ‘Spot the ball’ competition. I also had to sign my first autograph which happened when someone recognised me in the Queen’s programme, which was something new for me!

Ellie-Rose

Ellie-Rose, 11, was selected for the AEGON FutureStars programme just a year and a half after picking up a racket.

How long have you been playing tennis?

I started playing tennis when I was 8 and enjoy every moment I step on the court. I love chasing balls and being an aggressive player even though unfortunately the ball doesn’t always stay in the court!

How long have you been on the AEGON FutureStars programme? How does being on the programme help you?

I have been fortunate enough to be on the AEGON FutureStars programme for the last year and a half. I have participated in some beneficial training camps and it has boosted my confidence as I proudly wear my AEGON badge.

What are your two biggest successes to date?

I won the U10 Bournemouth Open and reached the top 16 in U12 (a year early) at the grade 1 tournament at Queenswood. I have also been extremely fortunate to have hit with Boris Becker and Marcus Baghdatis, which I found inspiring.

What are your ambitions for the future?

My ambition is to play the best tennis I possibly can and hopefully this will enable me to become a world-class professional tennis player.

How did you like being part of the AEGON advertising campaign?

I had a fantastic time being part of the AEGON photoshoot - having hair and wardrobe before I walked on court to play the sport I love best is my ultimate experience. I have been asked the question what would I want to be if I didn’t play tennis? And my answer was: to become a model. AEGON has allowed me to fulfil both of my dreams and it has been great fun to see my pictures in advertising campaigns and national papers.

I hope with my love of tennis and continual hard work I will reach my potential and thank AEGON for the support they have given to me.
