McEnroe confirms he’ll play at the AEGON Masters Tennis
Tennis legend John McEnroe will be back to thrill the crowds at the AEGON Masters Tennis in December.
McEnroe will be a superb addition to this very special tournament, which takes place in the majestic surroundings of the Royal Albert Hall in London each year and is the season finale to the ATP Champions Tour.
The first player to confirm his attendance at this year’s event, McEnroe will be joined by other tennis greats to battle it out for the title. Previous players have included Tim Henman, Pat Rafter and Goran Ivanisevic.
McEnroe has enjoyed success at the Masters Tennis before, winning the title in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2003, and he says: ‘I’m really excited to be back playing at the AEGON Masters Tennis in London this year.
‘The London tournament has always been one of my favourite events of the year; the crowds are really fantastic, the atmosphere is great and the Royal Albert Hall is one of the most spectacular arenas I’ve ever played in.
‘I still love to compete and I always play to win so I am training hard to be able to bring my best tennis back to London.’
