That’s why, over the five years of our partnership with the LTA, we’re spreading our investment across every level of the game, from the grass roots up.
Widening access to tennis
The grass roots are the lifeblood of any sport. We’re supporting two great programmes: AEGON Schools Tennis, which provides kit and teacher training for schools, and AEGON Parks Tennis, which aims to improve park facilities and widen access across the country.
Backing emerging British talent
When a young player shows promise, we’re helping to make sure they get the support they need to reach their full potential. Over 470 players are on the AEGON FutureStars programme, with the best moving up to join Team AEGON, the elite players heading for the world’s top 100. These LTA-run player programmes offer specialist coaching and development.
Sponsoring national and international events
You’ll see our logo and colours at tennis tournaments up and down the country, from amateur to professional, national to international.
Three of the best-known events we support are the AEGON Championships at The Queen’s Club, AEGON Classic at Edgbaston and AEGON International at Eastbourne. All held in June, these world-class events are some of the highlights of the British grass-court season. In 2011, Andy Murray won the AEGON Championships for the second time, becoming the first Briton to win multiple titles at The Queen's Club since 1935.
