AEGON GB Davis Cup and GB Fed Cup teams

We’re proud to be the official partner of our national teams, the AEGON GB Davis Cup and AEGON GB Fed Cup Teams, in which some of Britain’s top-ranked players compete internationally against other nations.

AEGON GB Davis Cup Team

AEGON GB Davis Cup Team July 2011The AEGON GB Davis Cup Team is made up of four of Britain’s top male players, selected by the captain Leon Smith before each tie. Several Team AEGON players have represented Great Britain in recent ties, including James Ward, Ross Hutchins, Dan Evans and Colin Fleming.

The team has recently been promoted and will play in Group I of the Europe/ Africa Zone of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas in 2012.

Davis Cup ties take place in February, April or September. They follow a 'best of five' format, with four singles and a doubles match played over three days.

Anne Keothavong, Team AEGON

The AEGON GB Fed Cup Team is made up of four of Britain’s top female players, selected by captain Nigel Sears. The squad for their most recent tie in January included three Team AEGON players: current British number one and world no. 72, Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong (pictured) and Heather Watson. They were due to be joined by fellow Team AEGON player Laura Robson until she was forced to pull out due to injury.

We hope to see the AEGON GB Fed Cup team go from strength to strength as they aim to achieve promotion from Europe/Africa Zone Group I. Fed Cup ties generally take place in early February and April.

Within the Europe/Africa Zone Group I, all the teams convene for a week in the one location. They are drawn into leagues of four and play a round robin. Play-offs then take place between the highest-placed teams in each league, with the top two teams overall progressing to the World Group II play-offs in April.
