After a three year break, this year sees the men’s ATP Tour return the Aegon international to join the WTA event, promising even more tennis action.
The tournament traditionally attracts some of the most famous names from the men and women’s game, with Andy Roddick, Feliciano Lopez, Kim Clijsters and Martina Navratilova among famous past champions.
Last year’s winner was World Top 10 player Dominika Cibulkova, who impressively won her first ever grass final beating Karolina Pliskova.
The tournament also typically boasts a strong British contingent and this year will see top British players Johanna Konta, Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund set to play to the delight of the home crowd.
Just yards from the beautiful seafront, Devonshire Park is Eastbourne’s oldest park. The idyllic setting provides the perfect summer backdrop for a week of world-class tennis ahead of Wimbledon. With tennis fans and players mingling in close quarters this tournament remains a favourite in the British tennis calendar.
